Become a Contestant

Code of Conduct 

 

  • Contestants will conduct themselves at all times with dignity, grace and good manners.

  • During rehearsals, all contestants will remain in designated areas at all times.

  • Contestants will not smoke or consume alcoholic beverages at any pageant activity.

  • A contestant will not participate in an interview, photo session, press contact or any type of publicity 

  • Unless a chaperone is present or the press has been approved by the director, contestants should not speak to the press.

  • A contestant will not be in the company of or speak to any judges until after the crowning.

  • Contestants must be ready to go at the times indicated on the schedule. 

  • All rehearsals are closed rehearsals.  No guests, parents or visitors permitted.

 

Those who do not follow the rules may be dismissed.  Guidelines for contestants and titleholders are subject to change each year, as directed by The Miss America Organization.

Miss Lancaster County Scholarship Competition

To be eligible to compete as a local or state participant for Miss America Organization you must:

  • be a female

  • be a U.S. Citizen

  • be living full-time as a resident of your state, or employed full-time in person, or enrolled full-time as a student at an accredited school/college

    •  be no older than 28 on September 30, 2027, and no younger than 18 on Sept 1, 2027

 

The entry fee for competing in the Miss Lancaster County Scholarship Competition is $100.

Miss Lancaster County's Teen Competition

To be eligible to compete as a local or state participant for Miss America Organization you must:

  • be a female

  • be a U.S. Citizen

  • reside in the state of Pennsylvania or have been a full-time student for one semester in a Pennsylvania High School, Junior High School or Middle School prior to her first competition

  • be enrolled in an accredited public, private or home schooling program

  • be no younger than 14 by September 1, 2027 and no older than 18 on September 30, 2027

Additional Notes:

  • Miss America HQ allows the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.

  • Once an 18-year-old decides on the division she will compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle. Please proceed to your applicable State online application.

The entry fee for competing in the Miss Lancaster County Scholarship Teen Competition is $100.
